Mission Statement for Men of Prince George’s:
The Men of Prince George's is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting residents within our community through education, mentorship, and service.
Our vision is to be a transformative force in Prince George’s County, where residents are empowered to lead with integrity, compassion, and purpose.
Pathways to Promise: Youth Mentoring for a Brighter Future!
Program Mission: To empower at-risk youth in Prince George’s County by providing mentorship, guidance, and support to help them achieve academic, personal, and career success. Through consistent relationships with positive adult role models, we aim to foster self-esteem, resilience, and community engagement.
Program Goals:
Academic Support: Improve academic performance through tutoring, homework assistance, and goal-setting.
Personal Development: Foster self-confidence, leadership, and emotional intelligence to support personal growth.
Career Exploration: Introduce career pathways and skills development to ensure successful futures.
Community Engagement: Encourage youth involvement in positive community activities to build social responsibility and citizenship.
Reduce Risk Behaviors: Provide structured environments and positive role models to decrease involvement in at-risk activities (e.g., drugs, crime, violence).
Target Population:
At-risk youth (ages 8-18) in Prince George's County, with a focus on those facing socio-economic challenges, limited access to education and mental health resources, and exposure to adverse conditions.
Priority will be given to youth living in underserved neighborhoods, including but not limited to those in foster care, single-parent homes, or involved in juvenile justice systems.

Youth to Work Program: Empowering the Next Generation in Prince George's County
Target Audience: Young people (ages 14–24) in Prince George's County, MD
Program Overview:
The Youth to Work Program seeks to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people in Prince George's County by providing them with essential work skills, professional mentorship, and direct employment opportunities. The program will empower youth with the tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to succeed in the workforce while fostering community engagement and career readiness.
Core Program Components:
Workforce Development & Skill-Building:
Career Readiness Workshops: Providing young people with essential work skills such as resume building, interview techniques, job search strategies, communication, and workplace etiquette.
Certifications & Training: Partnering with local businesses and organizations to offer certifications in fields such as customer service, IT, construction, landscaping, and health services.
Financial Literacy Classes: Teaching young people the importance of budgeting, saving, and financial planning for future success.
Mentorship and Guidance:
Mentorship Pairing: Connecting youth with professional mentors (members of Men of Prince George's County and local business leaders) who provide guidance on career choices, professional growth, and life skills.
Personal Development Coaching: Facilitating workshops and one-on-one coaching sessions focusing on building confidence, leadership, and emotional intelligence.
Internship and Job Placement:
Internship Opportunities: Offering paid and unpaid internships in collaboration with local businesses, nonprofits, and government organizations to give youth hands-on experience in a variety of fields.
Job Placement Assistance: Helping youth secure part-time, full-time, or seasonal jobs in various sectors such as retail, technology, construction, landscaping, healthcare, and the arts.
Community Engagement and Leadership:
Youth Leadership Training: Preparing youth to take on leadership roles within their community through volunteering, organizing events, and participating in local government and civic activities.
Networking Opportunities: Organizing community events, job fairs, and expos where youth can network with employers and professionals, fostering lasting relationships for career advancement.
Program Goals:
Increase Youth Employment: Provide young people with the tools and opportunities to secure meaningful employment in Prince George's County, addressing unemployment and underemployment among youth.
Enhance Professional Skills: Equip participants with the practical and professional skills they need to thrive in the workforce, from technical skills to soft skills like communication and problem-solving.
Foster Community Involvement: Strengthen the connection between youth and their community by encouraging active participation in civic engagement and local events, as well as fostering a culture of mentorship and support.
Create Career Pathways: Help young people explore diverse career paths and secure internships or jobs that allow them to build real-world experience and set the foundation for long-term career success.
Program Structure:
Duration: The Youth to Work Program will run year-round, with specific cycles aligned to summer internships, back-to-school job placements, and quarterly training workshops.
Eligibility: Open to youth ages 14-24 who reside in Prince George's County. Priority will be given to those facing economic barriers or limited access to job opportunities.
Enrollment: Participants will apply online or in-person, with a brief interview to assess interests and career goals.
Support Services: Continuous support will be provided through case managers, mentors, and program staff who will check in on the participants’ progress and offer additional resources as needed.

The success of the Youth to Work Program relies on strong partnerships with key stakeholders:
Local Businesses: Engage businesses in Prince George's County to provide internship opportunities, job placements, and mentorship roles for the youth.
Educational Institutions: Collaborate with local schools, community colleges, and universities to support academic programs that complement workforce development training.
Government & Nonprofits: Partner with local government agencies and nonprofits to offer funding, training spaces, and additional resources to help run the program efficiently.
